Surprise! Hulu has a new Predator movie coming—and it’s … animated? Yep, gory cartoon deaths for all, courtesy of Prey director Dan Trachtenberg. Predator: Killer of Killers, according to Deadline, is:
… an anthology story following three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge, a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession, and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause. While all these warriors are killers in their own right, they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.
I don’t really get “fiercest warrior in human history” from the pilot unfolding his draft notice in this trailer, but it is just a very brief trailer. Plenty of time for at least one person to get cut in half, though.
Killer of Killers is co-directed by Josh Wassung, from the animation company The Third Floor. Wassung has done visual effects work on everything from Battleship to Lovecraft Country to Masters of the Air. The story was Trachtenberg’s idea; Micho Robert Rutare (Z Nation) is the screenwriter. (Jim Thomas and John Thomas created the whole Predator thing.)
The Predators invade history on June 6th when Killer of Killers arrives on Hulu.
