This Friday, Cartoon Network’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars is bringing in their heaviest hitter yet! After a smattering of Bounty Hunters, loads of clones, and a faux-Darth Maul, they’ve finally managed snag Rob Roy Qui-Gon Jinn himself!
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Liam Neeson will provide the voice of Obi-Wan’s late Jedi Master in two episodes of the cartoon series, this Friday the 28th, and again on Feburary 11th.
But this isn’t the first reappearence of Master Qui-Gon since his untimely death in The Phantom Menace. In addition to Neeson’s brief voice-over cameo in Attack of the Clones, the Jedi Master appeared via dream sequence in one episode of the previous Tartakovsky version of Clone Wars, then voiced by Fred Tatasciore.
Naturally, we’re wondering how all of this connects with previously established canon. In Revenge of the Sith, Obi-Wan is suprised when Yoda reveals that he’s been chatting with the spirit of Qui-Gon. But after taking a look at EW’s exclusive video clip (slightly spoilery), it looks like ol’ Ben may have already had some Qui-Gon ghost-action!
