It’s confirmed, folks. The latest trailer for Season Five of What We Do In The Shadows reveals that everyone’s favorite familiar Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) has apparently gotten what he wished for, though he’s still got a lot to learn.

I’m talking, of course, but Guillermo finally getting the bite he’s been waiting for… and not from Nandor (Kayvan Novak). As the trailer makes clear, it looks like Guillermo believes he’s been vampirized, though he’s lacking in the supernatural abilities department. It’s unclear whether the bite took hold, though FX promises that his actions have unforeseen consequences.
We also get an update on some other vampires as well, particularly Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who is now back in adult form and running for office, and Nadia (Natasia Demetriou), who is battling a curse.
Here’s the official synopsis for Season Five:
In Season Five, Nandor feels his familiar (and sometimes friend) Guillermo slipping away as he seems to be spending much more time with Laszlo, whose skills as a gentleman scientist are put to the test as he tries to solve the mystery of the strange and very secret changes Guillermo is going through.
Nadja, suffering the effects of a previously-undiagnosed supernatural hex, reconnects with her family—or at least, a family—from the Old Country, Colin pursues the path of so many energy vampires before him by running for political office and The Guide tries to figure out where she fits in as the relative newcomer to this tightly-knit group who’ve known each other for centuries.
Season Five of What We Do in the Shadows premieres Thursday, July 13 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX and streams the next day on Hulu.
